No ecstasy for man busted allegedly trying to import 26 litres of GBL.
The Australian Federal Police has charged a 32-year-old WA man with importing 26 litres of gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), an illicit substance commonly known as liquid ecstasy – or a ‘coma in a bottle’.
GBL is an industrial chemical found in paint strippers and stain removers, and if ingested can be fatal.
ABF officers in Sydney allegedly found the drugs in an air cargo consignment from Hong Kong bound for Perth on 7 September 2020.
The 26 litres of GBL had a potential street value of approximately $78,000. The man will appear in court today. Read more at http://spr.ly/6181GLmIP
