With the COVID-19 pandemic limiting the number of matches played in 2020 and subsequently putting paid to the usual Team of the Year awards the ICC announced a special edition of its annual awards ceremony, instead recognising the standout international performers of the past 10 years.
Judges assessed players performances from January 1, 2011 to October 7, 2020 when selecting the teams. Players needed to have played international cricket in the relevant formats for at least five years.
