Rising pole vault star Nina Kennedy not only surpassed Alana Boyd’s Australian record, she used her poles to do it.

The bizarre circumstances behind the record-breaking performance from Kennedy was the highlight of the Sydney Track Classic.
Kennedy, 23, cleared 4.82m on her first attempt on Saturday night, adding seven centimetres to her personal best thanks to some assistance from Boyd.
