Nightly hooning and street racing east of Brisbane has locals ‘beside themselves’

On any given night, 40 to 80 vehicles gather for hooning and street racing in the area around Wellington Point Recreation Reserve in the Redlands, east of Brisbane.

Nearby resident Ben White described the situation as “pretty extreme”.
“They are doing excessive speeds, over 100kph in a 50kph zone [on Main Road], and that would be multiple times a week,” he said.
