New Roo? Likely No.1 pick enters AFL mid-season draft as second chances loom
Likely No.1 pick Jacob Edwards has reportedly chosen to nominate for the AFL mid-season draft, setting him up to join North Melbourne on June 2.
The Year 12 student could have waited until the national draft at the end of the season, where most draft experts believe he would go in the top 10, and sign a two-year deal. But he is now likely to be taken by the Kangaroos and sign an 18-month contract.
North Melbourne will hold the No.1 pick in the draft as long as it doesnt pass Hawthorn on the ladder…
