Tamworth now has the highest Covid rate in Staffordshire
A new national Covid testing centre has officially opened in Tamworth.
The NHS walk-through coronavirus testing facility in Spinning School Lane Car Park is for people with symptoms, a permanent version of what Tamworth had at Sir Robert Peel, and slots can be booked online from now after a successful pilot event on Saturday.
In Tamworth, the seven-day Covid rate is 361 per 100,000 of population, the highest rate in Staffordshire and higher than the average county, West Midlands and national rates.
