Three other parts of the UK will join the North East in a ban on socialising in private homes from Tuesday
More parts of England have been put under new coronavirus restrictions, mirroring those which came into force today in the North East.
The new rules will be enforced from Tuesday in Merseyside, Warrington, Halton, and Lancashire, excluding Blackpool and Greater Manchester, the Government said.
In the Midlands, Wolverhampton and Oadby & Wigston the rules will also be enforced.
