A new Covid-19 variant with potentially concerning mutations has been identified in the UK with 38 cases detected, experts have said.
As of today, Public Health England (PHE) has classed the B.1.525 strain as a variant under investigation (VUI).
However, it said there is currently no evidence to suggest this set of mutations causes more severe illness or increased transmissibility.
