Nearmap faces legal proceedings from US rival Eagleview – The Australian Financial Review
The Eagle has landed at aerial mapping business Nearmap.

Nearmap derives about 41 per cent of its North American sales from roof reports for the insurance sector which use them to assess damages claims caused by wild weather events and the like, according to JCaps report.
However, JCap reckoned Nearmaps roof reports could be infringing on Eagleview patents and, if legally challenged, it may be required to pay a royalty to Eagleview, find a different way to do a map, or stop producing roof measurements and roof reports altogether in the US.
