The new data comes as some schools are heading back to in-person teaching.
Worrying numbers have emerged from America just weeks before schools are meant to reopen in several cities.
The American Academy of Pediatrics says at least 97,000 children have tested positive for coronavirus in two weeks, according to the Daily Mail.
From July 16 to July 30, the Academy recorded the incredibly high number of positive test results but researchers hope it will be able to shed light on how children are affected by the pandemic.
