NBN slashes prices to coax users onto ultrafast plans – The Australian Financial Review
NBN will offer massive limited-time discounts on its fast internet plans in a bid to get more customers onto its more expensive plans and so boost its revenue.
The most aggressive of the two measures is heavy discounting of all four plans over 100 megabits per second, with each one selling at a flat wholesale price of $56 a month. For the 100 Mbps plan, that is a relatively modest $2 cheaper than current wholesale price. But for the Ultrafast 1 gigabit per second plan, which currently sells at $80 a month, that is a massive $24 cut.
The discounts will stay in place from February to July, after which normal pricing will return. NBN Co hopes this will coax…
