NBA contenders took a huge $200m swing … now all that’s left is an ‘enormous anchor’

When the Dallas Mavericks traded for Kristaps Porzingis back in 2019, it was the ultimate case of swinging for the fences.
The five-year, $158 million deal ($200m) was the largest in franchise history, easily surpassing Harrison Barnes $94.4 million ($119m) contract in 2016.
