The asteroid samples gathered by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft will offer a “good glimpse” into the early stages of the solar system, according to ANU cosmologist and astrophysicist Dr Brad Tucker.
“Asteroids are kind of the left-over bits of the solar system; they’re kind of the crumbs of the baking of a cake so to speak, and they offer a good glimpse into what really was present when the solar system was formed,” he said.
