Naomi Watts has found ample success on the silver screen in the US, and her new film Penguin Bloom is a perfect example of why that is.
The two-time Oscar nominee worked closely with Australian woman Sam Bloom in order to represent her faithfully in the movie.
In preparation for the part, Bloom graciously let Watts read her personal diaries all of which detailed the horrors she endured after a terrifying fall in Thailand landed her in a wheelchair.
