A judge who savaged NAB’s program of unlicensed loan promoters has weighed in on the bank’s practice of hiring expensive consultants.

I consider that the use of the term ‘independent’ in this context is somewhat apt to mislead; with no intended disrespect to those involved in this review, to my mind, as a general proposition, it unduly strains the language to describe a reviewer as ‘independent’ when the reviewer is paid by the person he is reviewing.
