Myanmar activists hold candle-lit vigils after four more killed in pro-democracy protests

Opponents of Myanmar’s military rule have staged candle-lit protests in defiance of crackdowns by security forces and the killing of nearly 250 people since the February 1 coup.

The demonstrations were held on Saturday night and into Sunday morning, with many small towns joining the nation’s biggest cities in defying the army’s wishes.
