My grandmother (1906-2005) told me her grandparents had owned this shop and I’d like some help/advice please on where/how I could find out its history to confirm that it is the same shop. My gg grandparents
were Francis and Elizabeth Acton and my research so far confirms they owned a grocery shop referred to as “O’Connell Town Stores” on Bowen Bridge Road (now Lutwyche Road) from mid to late 1870s to about early 1886 when I believe a Robert Scott and his family took it over and resided on the premises. This was after Francis had died in 1883, transferring the shop along with a house on the block next door to Elizabeth.
