Research has found a correlation between a mothers mental health and childrens emotional and social development.
The study of 4300 children revealed that women experiencing psychological distress during pregnancy and after birth are twice as likely to have children with emotional and behavioural issues throughout their childhood. The findings highlight the need for broader ante and postnatal support for parents.
