Motorcyclist fighting for life after Christmas Day crash

Earlier on Christmas Day, a 28-year-old man died after his vehicle crashed into a power pole in far north Queensland, while three female passengers escaped uninjured.
Police were called about 7am to Palmerston Highway at Coorumba, where the Holden Commodore left the road and crashed.
On Christmas Eve, a 21-year-old Charters Towers man died after his vehicle mounted an embankment and overturned at Broughton, 110 kilometres south-west of Townsville.
Police said the Toyota ute was travelling on Mafeking Road before it left the road. The driver, who was the sole occupant, died at the scene.
