Motorcyclist dies after fiery head-on crash
A motorcyclist has died after a head-on crash with a four-wheel drive that sparked a grass fire on the Gold Coast.
Police were called to Pimpama-Jacobs Well Road at Norwell about 4.45pm on Sunday when the crash occurred.
Both vehicles ignited on collision because of the impact, causing a grass fire.
Emergency services attended the scene and the blaze was brought under control.
The motorcyclist, a 54-year-old man from Pimpama, died at the scene.
The 49-year-old male driver of the four-wheel-drive did not sustain serious injury.
The forensic crash unit is investigating.
