Motorcyclist dead after M1 crash at Nerang, causing major delays
A motorcyclist has died after a freak ladder accident on Queensland’s M1 freeway.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Nerang just before 6am on Monday.
The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) said the crash was caused by a ladder which fell off a ute.
The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old Merrimac man, became trapped after being hit by a four-wheel-drive during the incident.
Queensland Police says he died at the scene.
