More than 900 children in Queensland required rescuing after being locked in cars

More than 900 children in Queensland have been locked in cars this year, sparking a warning that such an incident could turn deadly in a “matter of minutes” during the summer.

On average, three children per day have required rescuing after being locked in cars throughout the year.

Amid the onset of high summer temperatures, the RACQ has advised parents not to allow children to handle their keys or play games such as hide and seek while in the cars.
