More than 10,000 blood donations needed in two weeks as COVID impact takes toll – Bunbury Mail

It is one of the unexpected spin-offs of COVID-19, but Australian Red Cross Lifeblood is desperately short of blood and plasma.
It estimates it needs an additional 10,383 people to give blood and plasma over the next two weeks to prevent a potential shortage.
Appointment numbers are down and cancellation of appointments have increased.
All blood and plasma types are needed to make sure stocks remain at a healthy level.
