Should Cameron Smith retire as expected, there is only one player who could somehow overtake his remarkable record 430 NRL games.
Of the current players, only Benji Marshall (324) and Josh Morris (305) sit ahead of Pearce, but Marshall is not even guaranteed to play on Canterbury are continually linked but have no interest while Morris will enter his final year at the Roosters.
