Russian Camelot heads the market for both of Melbourne’s spring jewels, but a run at Flemington remains dependent on what happens at Moonee Valley in the Cox Plate.
Jockey Damien Oliver said in his opinion the Cox Plate is the better fit for Russian Camelot at this stage, while trainer Danny O’Brien said everything has been geared to the Plate and a decision on a Cup run won’t be made until after that race.
