A team of researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has published what it claims is the most comprehensive map yet of human noncoding DNA. The EpiMap (Epigenome Integration across Multiple Annotation Projects) resource offers an in-depth annotation of epigenomic marksmodifications indicating which genes are turned on or off in different types of cellsacross 833 tissues and cell types. This represents a significant increase over prior coverage, the team said.
