Tragedy has struck after a worker who fell from a height at an underground gold mine succumbed to his injuries.

A worker who fell from a height at an underground gold mine in Western Australia has died.
The incident happened at Saracen Mineral Holdings Dervish mine, south of Laverton, on Monday.
This is an extremely tragic accident and all our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time, managing director Raleigh Finlayson said on Tuesday.
Work was suspended at the Goldfields mine after the incident. The West Australian reports the man was seriously injured when his loader plunged 25m.
Operations at Saracens Carosue Dam operations, including the Dervish mine, have been suspended while a full investigation is completed.
