Microsoft Says Xbox Consoles Have Always Been Sold at a Loss – PCMag AU
Over the last 20 years, Microsoft has never made a profit selling an Xbox console.

It’s a well-known fact that when a new games console launches it’s typically sold at a loss. With hardware revisions and mass production ramping up, the costs fall and the console should eventually becomes profitable. However, that’s never happened for an Xbox console according to Microsoft.
