Chronic injury to force premiership hero’s retirement

Cowboys playmaker Michael Morgan is set to announce his retirement from the NRL today, according to multiple reports.
The 29-year-old visited a specialist on Thursday regarding his troublesome shoulder, but according to the Townsville Bulletin and The Courier-Mail, things did not go well.
Morgan was kept out of contact work at training yesterday before flying to Brisbane, where he was given the bad news, and an official announcement about his retirement is expected today.
