‘Just not quick enough’
Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton admits Mercedes is on the back foot after the final day of pre-season testing in Bahrain, while Daniel Ricciardo’s McLaren team is seemingly on track for a strong 2021.
With less than a fortnight remaining before the opening race of the season, Hamilton was only able to manage the fifth fastest time, as Red Bull and Max Verstappen set the pace.
It’s resulted in renewed hope that Mercedes may at last face a significant challenge after seven years of domination.
