Men were trying to save boy in ‘very selfless act’ when they drowned at Teewah beach, near Noosa
A Sunshine Coast man who tried to rescue two men on an unpatrolled beach north of Noosa yesterday says they drowned performing “a very selfless act”.
Palmview resident Brock Harris was driving on Teewah beach at Noosa North Shore with his fiancee when he was flagged down by a woman yelling “they’re drowning”.
Mr Harris said he swam out and saw two men who “weren’t really moving” as well as another man and child who were “struggling”.
“I got all four of them out of the water,” he said.
Mr Harris and several other bystanders, including an off-duty lifesaver, provided first aid until help arrived — but the pair, aged in their 30s, died on the beach.
