Melbourne uni to cut 450 staff after $1b revenue hit – The Australian Financial Review
Staff rejected a pause in pay rises last month which added to the difficult financial situation.
The specific positions to go had not been decided, but the 450 jobs are all full-time roles and represent about 7 per cent of the university workforce.
Last month the University of New South Wales said it would cut its workforce by 493 positions or 7 per cent. Monash University said 277 staff would go as it battled the downturn.
Melbourne Uni predicts enrolments next year will be 10 to 12 per cent down on this year and in 2022 enrolments will be down another 10 per cent or more on this year’s …
