Melbourne is on track to become the cheapest capital city in Australia in which to rent a property this year after its apartment rental market recorded the steepest annual fall on record, new data shows.
Melbournes median house rent of $430 per week, down 2.3 per cent from a year ago, is now equal to Perth and only five dollars a week ahead of Adelaide, Domains Rent Report for the March quarter, released on Thursday, revealed.
