Melbourne playwright Aidan Fennessy dies aged 53 – The Age
Fennessy was a talented writer, actor and director whose most recent critically acclaimed play The Architect looked at terminal illness.

“His humanity inspired all who came into his orbit, and all of us at MTC are deeply saddened by his death. He will be dearly missed, and our hearts and thoughts are with Aidans family and friends.”
Fennessy’s play The Heartbreak Choir, a comedy dedicated to the need for community and the transcendent power of music, was to have opened in June but was postponed due to the pandemic lockdown and instead will probably premiere next year.
