Melbourne animal shelter worker tied up by armed man at Cranbourne West Lost Dogs Home

A masked man armed with a gun and wearing “military style clothes” tied up a worker at the Cranbourne West Lost Dogs Home in Melbourne overnight before asking her where the cats were kept.
Victoria Police’s Critical Incident Response Team, Air Wing and the Dog Squad searched the area but were unable to locate the man.
The woman was physically unharmed.
A police statement said the armed man approached the woman in the carpark of the Thompsons Road animal shelter about 11:30pm.
“The man pointed a firearm at the woman, who works at the home, before he walked her into the animal welfare property and tied her up,” the statement said.
“He asked the victim where the cats were before he left the room and didn’t return.
