That’s the phrase the Duchess of Sussex wears on her wrist, inscribed in a bracelet given to her by gender equality activist Gloria Steinem.
“I love this … It means everything to me on every level; we are linked not ranked,” Meghan told the feminist icon in the pair’s recent ‘backyard chat’ for Makers Women.
During the interview, Steinem explained the origin of the phrase and its illustration of equal rights as “circles of consensus going up, rather than hierarchy.”
