McLaren proved a standout performer on the opening day of Formula 1 pre-season testing in Bahrain as Red Bull went fastest and Mercedes struck problems.
Max Verstappen banked the fastest time of the day, a 1:30.674s, and also recorded more laps than any other driver.
Indeed, Red Bull was the most prolific team on track, recording 139 laps eight more than Alfa Romeo drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi combined.
