McGowan takes aim at airlines after interstate fares skyrocket – WAtoday
Within hours of the announcement, airfares for one-way Qantas flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Perth jumped to more than $1000.

“That’s one of the reasons we did it but I’d just urge the airlines to be reasonable, obviously there is going to be considerable demand,” he said.
Mr McGowan ruled out subsidies and said the key to more affordable airfares was more flights.
“I expect as demand increases there will be additional flights come on,” he said.
The new border controls mean travellers from all states and territories except South Australia will be able to freely enter WA without the need to quarantine from December 8.
