The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League has begun with an upset after Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore, helped by a decent contribution from new boy Glenn Maxwell, stunned champions Mumbai Indians by two wickets.
Maxwell, who was picked up by the Challengers for INR 14.25 crore ($A2.56 million) in the IPL auction, scored 39 off 28 balls, with three fours and two sixes, but their key innings was played by AB De Villiers at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday.
