Formula 1 race director Michael Masi said there was no ‘knee-jerking’ over the barrier damage caused by Romain Grosjeans heavy Bahrain Grand Prix accident.
First lap contact with AlphaTauris Daniil Kvyat saw Grosjeans Haas spear into the Armco barriers at 220km/h, resulting in a 50g impact.
The impact tore the car in half, with the monocoque prising the barrier layers apart and allowing it to be wedged inside.
