Maroochydore CBD’s high-tech waste collection system can finally be switched on following the arrival of specialists from South Korea.
The $21 million system that sucks rubbish out of bins and through
underground pipes, has sat idle for more than six months.Council’s agreement with Envac meant the equipment could only be commissioned by the company technicians, but they couldn’t fly to Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions. The system is expected to be up and running by June.
