These public health maps illustrate just how far Covid-19 has retreated across Merseyside since the start of the year.
The region’s infection rates exploded in early January and were amongst the worst in the entire country.
Having been rewarded with Tier 2 status after bringing its numbers down in December, things spiralled out of control across Merseyside.
The region’s soaring infection rate tipped over 1,000 cases per 100,000 people in early January.
