Man who died during Cairns Ironman triathlon identified as beloved pilot and veteran

A man who died during a Queensland triathlon has been identified as a highly respected pilot and army veteran.

Tributes are flowing for Dave Hayes, who died after requiring medical attention during the swimming leg of the Cairns Ironman triathlon at Palm Cove on Sunday.
