Man suffers head injury after scooter row erupts in Brisbane’s CBD

A 50-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after a teenager allegedly punched him in Brisbane’s King George Square overnight.
Emergency services were called to Ann Street just before 1am on Saturday.
A police spokesman said the man was with friends when he came across seven teenagers, believed to be between 17 and 18, riding scooters in the square, which is prohibited.
“There was a verbal disagreement, which became physical,” the spokesman said.
“The 50-year-old man was punched and fell to the ground.”
Paramedics took the victim to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition with a head injury.
Police are investigating.
