A man has allegedly been stabbed to death outside a unit complex in Cairns in Far North Queensland.
Police were called to the scene on Marchant Street in Manoora, just before midnight following reports of a stabbing.
When officers arrived they found a 25-year-old Cairns man dead outside.
A 21-year-old woman who was discovered nearby has been arrested and is assisting police with inquiries.
It is understood the pair were known to each other.
Police said less than an hour before the alleged stabbing, the pair had travelled about 20 kilometres from Trinity Beach to Manoora in a taxi.
