Man stabbed to death at Ipswich house in final minutes of Christmas Day

The Hall Street home was cordoned off as a crime scene during the early hours of Saturday, with forensics officers set to comb through two crime scenes – in North Ipswich and the Logan suburb of Woodridge.
The 33-year-old man was arrested at a house on Edwards Street in Woodridge, 35 kilometres east of North Ipswich, at 5am on Boxing Day. He is assisting police with their inquiries.
Acting Detective Inspector Heath McQueen said the victim was fatally stabbed during a “domestic dispute”, but the weapon involved was yet to be found.
“Preliminary investigations have identified there were a number of persons at that address yesterday [Friday] who were known to each other, either related or in de facto relationships,” he said.
