Man shot on motorway cut off tracking device, was known to counter-terror cops
They spoke to his father on both occasions as Mr Abdi was not home, and later searched bushland where the device was last located.
She said police were then called to the motorway in Drewvale, on Brisbane’s southside, about 6am after reports of a man walking on the road. After attempting to engage with him, Mr Abdi then produced a knife, she said.

“Our police have had to resort to using their police service firearms and have fatally shot the man,” Ms Linford said.
The Ethical Standards Command is investigating with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission. Ms Linford said the incident was not being considered a terrorism event.
