Man killed by car after lying in middle of road north of Brisbane

A man has died after he was hit by a car while lying in the middle of a road north of Brisbane overnight, with police suspecting alcohol played a role in the tragedy.
The 27-year-old man, who lived in Caboolture, was hit on Bribie Island Road in Ningi, in the Moreton Bay region, about 10pm on Wednesday and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
The 28-year-old female driver of the car was not physically injured.
Police went to a nearby address in Caboolture where the victim had been earlier in the night and spoke to his friends, who had been drinking.
A police spokeswoman said officers would confirm details with the victim’s friends on Thursday, but it was believed alcohol was a factor in the man’s death.
