Man dies in hospital days after alleged punch to the face

A man who was allegedly assaulted on the Sunshine Coast at the weekend has died in hospital.
Police said the 50-year-old Kuluin man, who suffered head injuries after the alleged assault along Main Road in Maroochydore about 1.30am on Saturday, passed away overnight.

Investigations suggested the man was punched in the face before he fell backwards onto a hard surface, police said at the time.
He was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital in a critical condition.
