Man dies in custody in Brisbane’s south-west

A Queensland man has died in custody after suffering a medical episode at the watchhouse at Richlands, in Brisbane’s south-west, overnight.
The 65-year-old Ellen Grove man was arrested on January 15 for two domestic violence order breach offences.
He was remanded in custody after appearing in court on January 18 and was awaiting transport to another facility when he suffered a medical episode on Wednesday.
The man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he underwent surgery, however he died on Friday.
The Ethical Standards Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
The Crime and Corruption Commission have also been notified.
